The COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult for all ages, backgrounds, and genders. A recent study indicates that it may be particularly difficult for transgender and gender diverse youth compared to their cis-gendered peers. The study reports that transgender and gender diverse youth have experienced more disruptions in their mental health and substance use services as well as more un-met need for services. They also may be experiencing less support and more mental health difficulties than cis-gendered youth.
